Notable cases of white people who were discriminated against in the US: Robert Jordan, James Damore, David Duvall, Brian Walton, Shannon Phillips

In 2012, Robert Jordan, a white male, applied for a job as a police officer in New London, Connecticut. Despite being qualified, he was not hired because the city was trying to diversify its police force. Jordan filed a lawsuit against the city, claiming reverse discrimination. The case went to the U.S. Supreme Court, which ruled in favor of the city, stating that the city had a compelling interest in promoting diversity in its police force.

In 2018, a former Google engineer named James Damore filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging that it discriminated against white men and conservatives. The engineer claimed that he was fired after expressing his views on diversity and inclusion initiatives at the company.

In 2021, Novant Health, a North Carolina-based healthcare system, agreed to a $10 million settlement in a discrimination lawsuit filed by a white male employee named David Duvall. The employee claimed that he was fired as part of the company's efforts to diversify its workforce, which he argued was discriminatory against white men.

In 2021, Brian Walton alleged he was terminated from his job at Medtronic due to his race, pointing to the company's diversity goals regarding leadership positions as the basis for his claim. He argued that these goals, which aimed to increase representation of women and people of color in leadership by 2020, were the real reason for his termination, suggesting that if he had been a person of color, he would not have been let go.

In 2022, a white female employee named Shannon Phillips sued Starbucks for $25 million, claiming that she was discriminated against and fired because of her race and gender. The employee alleged that the company had a "systemic and pervasive" bias against white people and that she was passed over for promotions in favor of people of color.
